Keynote Speaker

Cal Millar – A resident of the Niagara area and was a reporter for a working

career spanning four decades. He was a founding member of Toronto’s

Crime Stoppers program and volunteered on the board of directors from its

inception in 1984 until leaving the Toronto area in 2005. In retirement he

served on the board of Halton Crime Stoppers and later with Crime

Stoppers of Niagara until 2022. Through the years he was also a board

member with the Ontario Crime Stoppers Association and Crime Stoppers

International. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his involvement

with Crime Stoppers, including the Gary Murphy Award of Excellence, the

Crime Stoppers International President’s Award and the Crime Stoppers

International Civilian of the Year. He has also written two books about

Crime Stoppers.
