Peel First Responders Recognition BBQ 2022

Peel First Responders and frontline essential workers play an integral role in our community, and they have stepped up for us all more than ever throughout the COVID-19 emergency. In recognition of their sacrifices, Peel Crime Stoppers in collaboration with Boots On The Ground is hosting a FREE community BBQ to recognize and celebrate our Peel Frontline Heroes. This event will provide an opportunity for Peel citizens to meet their favourite first responders and frontline essential workers in a non-emergency setting.

We are expecting hundreds in attendance now that we can finally come together again safely. The Canada Day themed event will be held at Chinguacousy Park (Brampton) on Saturday June 25, 2022 at 10am – 2pm. The program will commence with a land acknowledgement followed by singing of the national anthem. A commemorative coin and certificate will be presented to over 200 Peel Frontline Heroes. There will be live musical performances by local artists along with crafts and other activities for kids and seniors. Food stations will serve ethnic cuisine representative of the diverse communities in Peel region.

Peel Crime Stoppers is a registered charitable organization that operates the anonymous tip line 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and provides educational community programs.

Boots On The Ground is a registered charitable organization that provides a 24/7 peer support line 1-833-677-BOOT (2667) for all First Responders across Ontario. The organization has seen an historic number of calls to its helpline as the added stress of the pandemic took its toll.

This initiative will provide an opportunity to help raise awareness about the importance of mental health. We are grateful to our generous community partners supporting this initiative and both charitable organizations serving Peel front line heroes.
